Carol Ann Smith, S.H.C.J., a spiritual director and retreat guide, has extensive experience with Ignatian spirituality which has shaped her ministries of preparing spiritual directors in Diocese of Toledo, Ohio, and encouraging lay people in their faith development. She served as director of the Center for Ignatian Spirituality at Marquette University for ten years. She is a member of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and holds graduate degrees from Villanova University and Catholic University of America.
Smith’s book with Eugene F. Merz, Moment by Moment: A Retreat in Everyday Life, won First Place for First-Time Author in the 2001 Catholic Press Association Awards.
