Neil A. Parent teaches and works as an independent consultant for Catholic organizations, parishes, and dioceses. He served as executive director of the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership from 1990 to 2007. Prior to this position, he served for twelve years as representative for adult education at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. In this capacity, Parent edited ten books on adult catechesis, all published by the USCCB. He has written numerous articles for such publications as Our Sunday Visitor, Catechetical Leader, and Faith Alive. Additionally, Parent served seven years as director of adult faith formation at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Alexandria, Virginia.
