William Cleary is a poet, novelist, and musician. He has authored several books, including Prayers to She Who Is, How the Wild Things Pray, and Prayers to an Evolutionary God. He also wrote a full-length musical based on the Confucian classic fable, “Chun Hyang Song,” which was later revived for the Seoul Olympics. Cleary has written articles for such publications as Commonweal, National Catholic Reporter, and America. He is married to Roddy O’Neil Cleary, a Unitarian minister, and is the father of two musician sons. He lives in Vermont.
