Summary:

Warehouse and Facilities Temporary Part-Time position is to provide support and assistance for the Shipping, Warehouse, and Facility departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse and Facilities Temporary Associate may consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Shipment Quality

Pick products for customer orders, ensuring orders are shipped on time and inspected for quality.

Prepares a variety of mailings, maintains postage meters, and prepares supplies and stock for convention shipments. Ensures that USPS and Campus Mail are picked up and delivered in the morning and afternoon.

Receiving

Receives and completes paperwork on incoming stock, delivering it to the proper storage location with the proper labeling affixed. Resolves inventory discrepancies as they are found and keeps inventory accurate.

Receives, processes, and completes paperwork on all returned products.

Identifies materials and products that are damaged or do not meet company specifications.

Inventory Management

Performs accurate physical counts of all inventory, notifying others of discrepancies.

Stores all products at their correctly specified locations.

Safety and Compliance

Keeps accurate, detailed, and timely records of all shipping and receiving activities.

Takes responsibility for keeping the shipping area safe, clean, and organized; removes all excess scrap and any unusable items. Maintains a daily safety checklist for the operation of the forklifts. Performs preventative maintenance on Shipping and Warehouse equipment and machines.

Performs light building maintenance.

Consistently walking up and down a ladder.


Position Requirements:

  • No Major is Required (High school diploma). Must be 18+ years of age
  • Shipping and Receiving (Minimum 1-year experience)

  • Must be able to work with a high degree of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail and maintain a schedule in order to meet deadlines.
  • Must work well independently and in teams and be able to multi-task, recognize, and set priorities.
  • Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to effectively engage with our team members, customers, authors, and vendors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and type to input information, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee will consistently lift up to 50 pounds. The individual must understand common warehouse dangers and hazards (e.g., electric shock, tripping, slipping). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time, temporary position. The expected work hours are approximately 16 hours per week, between the business hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM (EST), Monday through Friday. The exact schedule will be discussed and decided upon during the interview and offer stage.

Travel Expectations:

Travel is minimal, if at all, and is expected to be <5% for this position.
