Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and ordained to the priesthood in 1975 in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. His years of ministry include serving on the staff of Notre Dame Seminary Graduate School of Theology where he also spent fourteen years as the rector/president. In 2001, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Austin. He was named Archbishop of New Orleans in 2009.
